Winter Wonderland here in Munising, MI. We saw well over two feet of fluffy lake effect snow fall here the last few days.
Trails are being groomed and conditions are good to excellent. Quite a few snowmobilers riding around Munising and Alger County.
The cold weather is here and the Lake Superior snow machine is turned on. We received another 6 inches of lake effect snow and another foot or more is on the way. Trail grooming has begun again and conditions are fair to good.
An agreement was reached at the end of last year to keep Trail 422 to Miners Castle open. Good to see that common sense prevailed.
The lake effect snow machine kicked on here in Munising and we received about a foot of fresh powder. Grooming has started and conditions are good.
From TrailReport.net: Currently groomed trails are Trail 419 South from Wetmore, Trail 8 from Shingleton West to the trail 7/8 split, Trail 7 South to the Buckhorn, Trail 422 toward Miners Castle to H-58.
The remaining sections should have base packing started in the next day or two. We are waiting for more cold days to get 419’s Frog Hollow packed in, it’s currently a swamp.

There are a couple of snowmobilers riding around Munising. With under a foot of snow on the ground, conditions are just barely rideable at this time.
